Becoming a mother is the most beautiful feeling. You feel happy from inside and are bursting with joy. But you have to accustom yourself to a new lifestyle which includes changing diapers, breastfeeding, waking up all night to make your baby sleep, and so on. It can take a toll on your skin if you don’t take proper care of it. Your skin starts aging early and your post-pregnancy glow soon fades away. So, what can you do to maintain your pregnancy glow? Let’s find out some skin care tips for moms.
Firstly, we will look at the changes your skin goes through post-pregnancy and how you can tackle it.
Due to subsequent weight gain and loss, your skin will develop some stretch marks all over busy. Some will fade with time while others will remain for a lifetime. But these stretch marks are a symbol of your beautiful 9 months journey.
Due to hormonal changes, your skin behaves absurdly. This starts showing up on your face’s skin and you develop some dark spots on face.
Staying up all night to feed your baby or to make them go to sleep can result in dark circle and puffy eyes.
Establish a skincare routine. Follow the cleansing, toning, and moisturizing regime. This will ensure that your face skin remains healthy. Invest in good quality cleansers that clean your face without stripping your natural oils. Toning and follow by moisturizing with a good face cream.
Pregnant or not, sunscreen is a staple in skincare. It protects your skin from harmful sunrays. Post-Pregnancy your skin becomes hypersensitive due to hormonal imbalance. Invest in a good quality sunscreen to protect your skin in the longer run.
We usually ignore our neck and chest area while following a face care routine. But we should know that the early signs of aging start showing in this area first. So, whatever goes on face goes on your neck and chest too.
To reduce that double chin that you got due to weight gain can make your face appear plumper than it is. Some people like it that way and some people want to get their old face back. First of all, we want to tell you that either way you look beautiful and an extra layer of fat on the skin or not is your choice. But if you are one of those who want their sharp features back then you should give 5 mins daily to face exercises.
Post-pregnancy your skin might become dry and flaky. Now is the right time to invest in lotions and body butter. These will be your body skin’s best friends forever. Apply moisturizer from head to toe, religiously, every day.
Exercising will not only help you in losing extra weight but will also help you in keeping yourself fit. Being a mother, you need to be fit at all times to take care of your baby. We won’t recommend going to the gym but you can go for morning walks, jogging and can even do yoga and meditate.
Eat your greens, drink plenty of water, stay away from junk food. Eat in the right proportions and eat healthily. That is all we have to say.
